In late September 2015 East Asia Composites (EAC) in partnership with Norman R Wright and Sons (NRWS) moved a step closer to launching a new power boat brand to the market.
The first Hull of the Norman R Wright 34 has been released from the mould (see images below) and the boat will now progress through the fit-out and completion phase for an intended launch in early 2016. EAC has immediately commenced the construction of Hull #2.
The Norman R Wright 34 designed by Bill Wright of NRWS in consultation with Paul Scholten of EAC is a cruiser that brings together classic lines, modern performance and practical function. Designed as a ‘lobster style’ day cruiser it will impress with its well thought out features, comfortable finish and impressive styling.
“We have developed an excellent working relationship with Bill Wright and his team and we share a passion for bringing a well-designed, soundly built, but affordable 34 foot day boat to the market,” Paul Scholten of EAC said.
Paul added, “Bill understands how important it is to design a boat with great lines and good function and EAC is backing this up with our experienced build team. We have a solid team of boat builders who are genuinely excited and passionate about this project. Our factory is clean, organised and set up for this build so it is a perfect fit for EAC,” he said.
The first completed boat will based in Phuket, Thailand to be used as a demonstrator model available for sea trials and will also be on display at key boat shows throughout the region in 2016. The second boat will be shipped to Australia where the first owner is eagerly anticipating its delivery in April of 2016.
Sales and distribution of the Norman R Wright 34 will be managed by both Norman R Wright and Sons and East Asia Composites along with a network of selected agents. Initial inquiries should be directed to Norman R Wright and Sons for Australian and New Zealand inquiries or to East Asia Composites for inquiries from Asia and the rest of the world.
